Why Become a Member?
As we settle into our new Apex home, we’re taking a moment to reconnect with what’s always made The Forge special. From the beginning, we dreamed of a space where youth, teens, adults, and retirees could explore, build, and learn side by side—a place that felt safe, welcoming, and alive with curiosity. During the pandemic, we shifted toward more drop-off programs like FIRST teams, but it came at a cost: volunteer burnout and a fading sense of shared community.
In this next chapter, we’re returning to our roots—focusing on connection, creativity, and making room for a wider mix of interests, from sewing magical capes to exploring robots and AI.
The Forge is a Third Space
The Forge has always aimed to be more than just a place to drop off or sign up. It’s a third space—somewhere that’s not home, not school or work, but a shared space built on curiosity, care, and community. As we rebuild, we’re not trying to do everything. We’re focused on what matters: creating a place where people feel known, inspired, and genuinely welcome.
Together
Something powerful happens when people of all ages create together. Whether you’re soldering a circuit or sketching a design, this is a space where ideas and generations mix—and where we all learn more because we’re doing it side by side.
Our members include families, youth, teens, adults, and retirees—engineers, artists, parents, homeschoolers, tinkerers, and lifelong learners. You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to be curious and ready to be part of a community that makes things happen together.
